So...why are people spazzing out about this comment exactly? Seems like a pretty run-of-the-mill saving face PR statement.

i'm not saying they deserve the label, nor am i saying we should dislike them simply because they are disliked and were voted the worst company in america (i don't even understand how you could miscontrue my argument that badly but whatever)
exercise some self control you convictionless whiney drone and drop the developer like you should have years ago when they were crowned worst company in america for yet another consecutive year.

https://nieuws.vtm.be/binnenland/onderzoek-naar-nieuw-star-wars-spelBelgian Gambling Commission (regulatory part of ministry of justice) has just launched an investigation into BF2 for its loot boxes and whether it constitutes a form of gambling. Watch this go to the ECJ and set an international precedent.
If it's a gameplay designer, I imagine you want people who are experienced with the series.Unlike say, Respawn "Hire people who hate Titanfall to make Titanfall" Industries.

They weren't crowned worst company in America because of a video game ending. They been doing shady shit for years, multiplayer passes were a huge part of that.

The problem with dropping ea is they hold the licenses to a lot of fan favorites. If the past is any indicator they'll buckle under the pressure they receive from consumers and find some other way to fuck us over later.
Unfortunately you're not going to change things by not purchasing their games, they are going to make money one way or another.

EA won't hold the licenses if everyone dropped the publisher. They can go the route of THQ for all I care.

Thank you to everyone in our community for being the passionate fans that you are.Our goal has always been to create the best possible game for all of you – devoted Star Wars fans and game players alike. We’ve also had an ongoing commitment to constantly listen, tune and evolve the experience as it grows. You’ve seen this with both the major adjustments, and polish, we have made over the past several weeks. But as we approach the worldwide launch, it's clear that many of you feel there are still challenges in the design. We’ve heard the concerns about potentially giving players unfair advantages. And we’ve heard that this is overshadowing an otherwise great game. This was never our intention. Sorry we didn’t get this right. We hear you loud and clear, so we’re turning off all in-game purchases. We will now spend more time listening, adjusting, balancing and tuning. This means that the option to purchase crystals in the game is now offline, and all progression will be earned through gameplay. The ability to purchase crystals in-game will become available at a later date, only after we’ve made changes to the game. We’ll share more details as we work through this.We have created a game that is built on your input, and it will continue to evolve and grow. Star Wars Battlefront II is three times the size of the previous game, bringing to life a brand new Star Wars story, space battles, epic new multiplayer experiences across all three Star Wars eras, with more free content to come. We want you to enjoy it, so please keep your thoughts coming. And we will keep you updated on our progress.
