well, there would be. until people stop buying it.

Yeah, that's not going to happen. They'd just continue to charge $20 per expansion otherwise, and the people who religiously play these games would buy them all anyway. That's why the season pass model works, because it genuinely saves money for the people who love the games.

I do prefer their business model, though.

I much prefer the Mass Effect style over the commom practice. I am very glad Halo has adopted it over other business models.

the mileage in that regard varies wildly from user to user. so the fractional content argument is nonsensical and frankly irrelevant. (what % of the playerbase spends a notable chunk of time in forge anyway? id bet its not a big number.)

for what its worth, im not supporting anything. i was gonna wait until the forge update to see whether or not it was worth anyway. but speaking in hyperbole isnt a good way to form a potent argument, and it can serve to mislead others who arent quite mindful enough to research for themselves just what kind of content was cut/what they can expect on release.

If 343i already has your money, then why would they need to put effort into forge? it's cheaper not to.

Besides the fact that there's a lot of pressure on 343 to pull through on Halo 5, and Halo 5 being the game that could make or break the franchise at this point.

If they had no incentive to make it good, they wouldn't have delayed it for 6 weeks to get it ready.

Why do you think the MCC was broken for so long? They already had your money.

Because 343 didn't even develop the MCC, and because it was a complete mess, and had only a small team dedicated to pushing updates and fixes, whilst the core 343 team was already balls deep in development for Halo 5.
