I normally hate this motherfucker, but I found his rant on the new God of War trailer to be highly entertaining.
I need to keep this in mind when I review games--if I'm liking a game that got a lot of bad reviews,
read all those bad reviews. If I'm
not liking a game that was critically acclaimed,
read all those good reviews and try to understand why it was so well-received. Don't let them change your mind, but allow them to give you a new perspective--allow them to give you an understanding of why something is perceived the way it is.
I've never played any God of War games, but he kinda goes into the essence of the first two in the series, and just by the way he described them--in less than thirty seconds--he did two things: 1.) Made me happy that I never played these games, because they sound like shit. 2.) Made understand why someone
else would've liked them, despite being personally put off by it. In less than a minute of exposition.
There's a lesson in concision there that I could take. It's just too bad he was drunk during this rant, otherwise he probably would've been even more lucid.
