I'd disagree. Certain gameplay elements (third person elements, the first person action scenes without shooting, vaulting, the movement, the shooting, ADS, abilities...) are alll very Destiny and CoD-like.
first person action scenes =/= cod

new movement elements =/= cod either. don't be a mong.
ads has always been in halo too.
Well considering Frankie admitted during pre-release H4 that they looked at what they thought COD did right when making it, and they ended up using a lot of features COD made popular (and modders have found planned taking even more).  Now Halo 5 features most of the ones from H4 with some exchanged for new ones, it's pretty obvious where they look to for "inspiration".  343 just take what ever trends popular and do Halo's take on it.

Halo didn't have ADS, it had zoom.  There was no gun blocking the middle of screen, just a transparent reticle.

Halo 5 is gonna be an average game. Not terrible, not good.

The best news of the day IMO is the Xbox Elite controller. I'll be getting that shit day 1.
