People who pirate games almost all the time would have never spent money on the said games. No sales would be lost. And it's relevant because it's showing people spend money on PC. The only reason people don't pirate on console is because they can't. Not because they're better people.

You're assuming that the vast majority of people on the PC platform "steal". The thing with digital piracy is that you can't prove that a pirated copy is equivalent to a lost sale since in most cases the person pirating wouldn't have bought the game anyway. This is supported by the fact that the majority of video game piracy comes from shithole countries like Romania, Armenia, and Serbia.

Yeah, and almost all of the people playing it will have bought it for 30 USD or their regional equivalent.
Quote from: LC on December 03, 2015, 09:23:32 PMYeah, and almost all of the people playing it will have bought it for 30 USD or their regional equivalent.except the ones who pirate itwhich is the problemif you can't afford the game, or don't want to shell out the money for itwell, that's tough--you don't get to play the game, thenthat's how it works
And piracy also exists on consoles. Are we going to now claim that console gamers don't have the integrity to pay for games as well?
Quote from: LC on December 03, 2015, 09:26:28 PMAnd piracy also exists on consoles. Are we going to now claim that console gamers don't have the integrity to pay for games as well?surethe point is, it's a lot easier to pirate games on PC, and there's a goddamn many people who actively support itso was my initial comment an exaggeration? yesbut let that not obfuscate my initial, very simple point--thieves will be thieves
It may be easier to pirate games on PC, but that's due to the nature of PCs being an open platform. The fact that more money is made from that one platform alone than all of the others combined shows that the rate of piracy isn't really all that high. Support for piracy has nothing to do with platforms though as it's an act that transcends mediums. Why you felt the need to hop in and assert that PC gamers in general are pirates I have no idea.
