Downloaded Faster Than Light

I would spend some time trying out different builds, seeing the various events that can happen, using different crew members, and quit about halfway through so you can start again. Mastering the beginning is key to succeeding in the end; the boss is actually very hard, and that fight itself would take several practice runs.

I'm trying the game on Easy first. Even then, you can still get fucked in the ass from the rewards. I don't have enough jumps left and almost no scrap.

Just have fun with it and mess around the first while.
You'll pick it up quicker that way.
There's some kickass mods I could find if you want them, allowing you to make your own ships and the like.

First few playthroughs, dont try to win, just try to understand how the game works, and dont trust no one, people are assholes in space....well except the occasional trader that repairs your ship

So far I've played an hour and a half.

Ship destroyed 3 times, crew killed in another when the oxygen ran out. Hell on my first ship I nearly killed the crew by opening all the doors and nearly suffocating them.
