Not really. It's very possible to compare ME1's combat with a game from a different series entirely, you know.

Am I not allowed to compare Fallout 3 to anything else, because I haven't played Fallout 1 or 2 yet?

ME1's gameplay is awful.

Clunky. Slow. Weapons suck ass. Juddery as fuck.

The UI is awful too.

It seems bad now, but back in the day that shit was great. I always loved scrounging up all the upgrade parts to make your weapons badass. Getting that master Spectre sniper rifle with frictionless material was a huge payoff at the end. None of the subsequent games had that payoff, despite streamlining (or eliminating) the upgrade and skill tree process.
