Does anyone here play The Long Dark?

The Long Dark is an early access (hear me out) survival game where your plane crashes in the middle of Northern Canada in the winter. You have to scavenge, go through houses, and find/make warmer clothes to survive.

Those of you who own it, what's your preferred method to survive?

I essentially pretty much play the real version of it.

"Would knit 20 pound sweater from a bear again" -10/10

"Holy shit it's fucking cold" -5/5

"This game is an accurate representation of Beaver maulings" -7/10

"It's like Skyrim with maple syrup" -8.5/10

Didn't play KSP either.

The game looks tits, but I'd rather wait for final product. Based on principle alone, I cannot support Early Access.

Played for a bit. The ambiance and subtle music they throw in really is great. I had to remind myself that there really is no objective other than to survive, and get in the mood for that.

I found the watchtower, made a fire and rested there, then made it to a camp and rested there as well.

As I was wandering, I found a Hydroelectric Dam and made my way in there and explored for a bit, before resting. As I was looking for fire materials, I heard a growling (it was really dark) and scrambled to get a flare out, but I was met with green eyes and died from blood loss.

Survived for 2 days.

If you want to survive, a good tip is to take the newsprint and turn it into tinder plugs. Weighs less and does the same job, so you can carry more of them at a time.

I played the hour preview on X1, explored the hydroelectric dam (no Fluffy for me though) and wound up crawling through a cave system into a field of snow in a forest. My hour ended as I was ascending to a high point so that I could make my next move-I was in a solid position. I'd buy it but i'm poor and the price is a bit steep IMO
