Reach a game's final boss, but end up never beating the boss because you don't want the game to end  >>

When I get there I'm ready to see it through to the end. Part of life is all things must come to an end. Accept it.

Unless the game presents you with a hard choice, then yes. Like shooting The Boss in the head for MGS3, or... some other games I can't think of right now, but I know have done it.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.

I never beat the final Boss on Xargon, but I assure you it was entirely involuntary.

no that's silly

If a wonderful story ends, that means we have to move on......

How could the next story be as beautiful as the one that came before?

Do you remember on b.net when Kimchi spammed you with "why" and then you made a screencap of it? I dunno why, but I will always remember that <<

If you're really enjoying the story why wouldn't you want to see all of it?
Related: dragging out a good story beyond the point it should have ended is often a good way to ruin it

I guess I'm just afraid of the story ending badly.

And...that's a good point.

No, though I've had games where I simply stop playing at or near the final boss due to disinterest.

I neither fear, nor despise.
Nah it's usually because the boss is ridiculously hard and I give up for like 6 years, randomly dust off the old console, see the game cartridge, feel this insane anger rise as I think of my humiliating defeat years prior, then I go to send that fucker back to Hell

When I was like 6 or 7, yeah.

I remember playing Spider-man 2000 on the N64, and I didn't have a rumble pack. I never saved the game, but the final boss was so terrifying I turned off the console and never beat it. Until a few years later.

Also, I remember being really sad after Jak and Daxter's final boss. The epic music, the epic introduction of light eco... so nostalgic, to be honest.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
No, but I have stopped playing games on their final bosses and not picked it back up until years later.

Only in bethesda games. I can't tell if an endgame boss is going to come up obviously. But sometimes, I'll get to a quest that just screams "this is the final descent into the game" and I just stop dead for some reason.
