Destiny Story Specific Explanation/Discussion Thread

Though the shitty game that was released has very little actual lore shown in it, there is a large amount of background info outside of the game that can explain a lot about the universe. So if any of you faggots want to discuss it or ask any questions (Like what that huge fucking useless orb in the sky is) then post about it here. I'll try my best to explain stuff.

Chris Schlerf has been made the lead writer, and considering his work on Halo 4 I'm pretty hopeful that future games will have a much better story.

Favourite aspects have to be the Fallen and the Reef, the story of Thorn/The Last Word is pretty good too

I haven't really seen them go to painstaking lengths to do that. I mean, the Stranger's Rifle is built of esoteric components that phase in and out of reality randomly. Yet you can find a gun made hundreds of years ago more powerful than it a few days later. Or sooner.
