Shame really, the universe is pretty cool from the Grimoire and I'd have liked to see what the original story was

I love you, son.
Where is Staten now?
He's back with Microsoft, working on something. He's got a Halo book coming out in a few months.

From what I remember of the reddit thing. It was along the lines that the traveller was in charge of the darkness and the player character joined a special group of guardians trying to bring it down. But they were working incognito because everyone else basically worships the trvaeller. And that black haired space elf dude and the robot woman were originally part of this group.

It sounds a fuck ton more interesting than what we got.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.
heck i'd get destiny even with the shitty story just because the gun play is quite fun when im feeling to play something a little casual but bungie really have pissed me off with their pricing

the gunplay is fun and the soundtrack is good.

that's literally all the complements I can give the game. Art style is arse, story and dialogue is arse, exploration is arse, pvp is arse

literally everything aside from the base gunplay and soundtrack is arse

Same here and I would also like to see what the game was supposed to end up like. I know concepts for a game end up changing but in the case for Destiny the concepts images look like they are for a completely different game. When you Google up concepts for the game you see a shit load that didn't make it into the game. Which are either locations or enemies. Like I said it's like we're seeing two completely different games when you compere the shit we got to what it was supposed to look like.
With this image we see ships in a formation which could be a battle group. To me that's implying there was supposed to be space battles which didn't happen in the game
Spoiler

With this image it takes place at a swamp and there's a similar image which is a battle at the same location. With the game we don't see that planet and no creatures ridding a giant frog mount. In the concepts Destiny looks like it was going to be a stronger cross being fantasy and sci-fi which is poorly done in the game.
Spoiler

This planet looks like it was going to be medieval themed. This is another great concept that did not only make it but once again looks like it's for another game.
Spoiler

With these two images we see cities that are space ships. Nothing like that made it into the game and if it did I doubt it looks anything like that.

A lot of those concepts are really old. But they said a little while after they revealed the game, that they decided not to make it with so much fantasy. I think it would have been cool though.

They really should have stayed with that idea. To me the concepts have identity to them and they look like something we haven't played before. With the final game it has no identity at all to it and it looks like something we played before. Honestly it looks like Halo with a new skin unlike the concepts which have their own look to them when you group them together.

I love the original Guarding concept. To me they look like Braotherhood of Steel Knights that would be walking around in a LoTR type of settings. They look like they have character to them unlike the lifeless ones we have now that look like any other sci-fi characters.

I think being told from the first mentions of Destiny that the Traveler is your ally, just to find out "jk he's evil" is just retarded and overdone.

The whole "everything you believe is Isa lie" thing

All of those instead of the Pyramid ships were before main development was started on Destiny. The Human ship in the last wallpaper was originally the last city before they made it on earth. And before Destiny was scifi it was fantasy, there were never going to be medieval themed planets.

The pyramid ships are part of the 5th race which were cut and will probably be revealed later.

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
Bungie didn't originally know if they were going to go medieval or sci-fi fantasy with Destiny, iirc, which is why you see the different settings in those images.
