yeah i would not have bothered if there wasn't a switch version

but DLC + getting to play it on the go is definitely worth $40 imo

tbh it's the little things that made me regret it

it hasn't aged too well imo, and i just hate how unlike 2 and 3, you can't select multiple souls and STILL stay in the menu. It kicks you out. Easily little quality of life things they could have added in that don't change the core gameplay that people loved

I'm very critical of 'remasters' when it comes to games, and this was just the laziest you could possibly be. I felt they didn't deserve my money, so in the future i'll be smarter about it.

oh, i'm very critical of them too—which is why the other reason i got it is because i have a friend who i've been begging to try the game for the LONGEST time, but when he got a switch, he fell in love with it to the point where he said he's never going to buy a game on another system again

it's a shame about the item souls thing, though i wasn't aware it was better in future games (haven't played any of them yet)

what i would do is just equip a bunch of them so i could bolt through them faster, but it was still a little tedious having to re-equip all my normal stuff again—and honestly i never used them much anyway

menuing in the first game was kind of a pain in general, especially with the bottomless box being clunky and useless, but i've played enough gen 1 pokémon to develop a high tolerance for terrible game menus
