No. Stop comparing NPCs to humans. They're two fundamentally different things.
Because it's a form of consent. Without it, the player cannot be blamed for getting invaded, because he had no way of knowing you could get invaded in this game until it happened.
No, because, again, NPCs are not people.
But not invasions.

I can think of a dozen reasons to dislike dark souls but comparing it to rape isn't one of them

Quote from: Luciana on December 07, 2015, 02:33:52 AMGeez, you two really know how to take a nice vibe of a thread and really degrade it with this useless arguing that's happened before about 4 times on this same exact topic.I'm done talking about this stupid thing. Verb I'll engage you in actual Dark Souls thoughts whenever you actually get to playing it, rather than your pre-made judgement of it (no that's not an insult or a jab). I only told you about the offline thing for your consideration since it offers players an option in case they don't want to play online like the vast majority of their audience wants to.Well, I'm sort of conflicted, because on one hand, I would love to just play offline the entire playthrough. Fuck those cunts. But at the same time, I'm sort of deliberately avoiding part of what makes the game so fun for a lot of people, so maybe I should enable the multiplayer at least once, or something. I don't know.I'll figure it out when I make it there, I guess.

Explain how they are other than being more difficult bcause they can think. Good enemy intelligence is good for a game, not bad.
BThe player had no way of knowing that entering a fog-gate would lead to a boss, the player had no way of knowing how much damage an enemy attack would do, the player had no idea of knowing if there was fall damage or not, the player had no way of knowing xxxxxxxxx. The player isn't instakilled when they are invaded, they have a fair chance at killing the invader.
But you had no idea it would happen, which is the reason invasions are bad right?
The back of the box doesn't have to explain the entire game to you, that's what a manual is for. Which funnily enough, explains invasions.
you're playing a game where you are expected to face off against AI at some point or another.
There should be a disclaimer in-game.

It's a game. You're not actually being harmed. The point of the game is that you CAN invade people. It was a little weird at first, but that's the point of them game. That's what te developers intentionally did. And it works. You'll find most of the time people are looking for a fair duel either way.
You need to see this from the perspective of a developer trying to make money. They generally don't focus on what the tiny minority care about. It might suck for the tiny minority, but that's just how it is. Look at Fallout 4, for example.
Every game is played by cunts and trolls. There's no disclaimer that your teammate can spawn kill you in Halo 3. I don't see you complain about that. At least in Dark Souls there's a point to it, and it's immersive.

It's just so fucked. It's not about getting harmed--it's a matter of not wasting other people's time and just letting them have fun.And if you think invading people is fun, well, you're a piece of shit. That's all I have to say about that.

You don't in Dark Souls, until it happens. All I want is a disclaimer. I hear Bloodborne did it right. It asks you if you want to play hollow right away, so I hear.Dark Souls should be the same way.
