Dark Souls Impressions - The FINAL Update

Now I know why they call it "dickwraith."

That's not nearly disparaging enough for my tastes, though.

Yeah, it's kind of a slap on the wrist for the rage I've induced. I wish I had screenshots of the hate.

I forgot to mention--I jumped online briefly, just to update the game to its current and presumably final version (1.09).

Hopefully that means no more bizarre glitches, better frame rates, and smoother sailing in general.

This happened, and some oddities with the hellkite dragon flipping out when he's not supposed to.

Also, bad bad bad frame rate issues towards the beginning of the Depths.

Just so you know, the game suffers from some frame rate drops even with the latest patches. The area you're in now and the one right afterwards are notorious for it. The rest of the game is generally pretty smooth, but be aware that the part you're in now can be pretty shitty. Best recommendation is to angle the camera down so that you're looking at the floor if it gets too bad. Less things on screen should increase frame rate.

Nah, it actually improved quite vastly. You should've seen how bad it got before I updated. As for the next area, I guess we'll have to see.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I was just talking about the frame rate in that area, as I quite like it myself.

That Elevated part was actually really friggin easy. Just take it slow and steady, grab that eagle shield and be ready to find an enemy behind you. The lower area is actually very interesting too. Love Maneater Mildred and trying to run past the boulder throwers.

When my elgato arrives I'm going to play DS1 again and pay attention more closely and jot down little details I notice. I'll probably end up chiming in on your comments in here every once in a while if that's ok.

I invaded and ran into the Mound Maker (purple guy) and we said our hellos. Then we ran off to find two of them doing the spinning around the poll. I knew I couldn't win, so I just decided to mess around and scramble to record it. Was gonna help everyone kill the purple guy since he hit them first, but quickly forgot about that since another friendly game in.

So I just equipped the sword and spun around with them until kill :<

I have to invade 5 times to unlock the red soap sign for duels. And you'll lose almost every time, so it's more comedic to just mess around.

Had the same problem, but I think I solved it. You just gotta reduce the quality. Your PC probably can't handle your current settings.
