I had that happen to me when I was summoned into a host's world with another invader, and 2 phantoms.
Obviously the invader and I worked on killing the phantoms off, and sometimes chasing the host. Except all he would do it light attack, block, heal, run away.

However it didn't take long for both of the phantoms to die and when we ganked the host he froze completely and we both knew that the fucker disconnected.
So we gestured until "connection error occurred", laughed the whole time.

You wot. That axe was one of my very first PvP weapons. Like the hipster I am, I used it weeks before I ever saw someone else use it. Don't hate.

Seeing how poise is essentially broken in DS3, it's impossible not to get stun-locked by a Greataxe. Basically you get hit once, that's pretty much the end for you because you can just throw a few more consecutive hits and there's no way to roll out of it. It's just a cheap tactic.

The only time people have chugged for me is when they are faking the fight club.

You know, a phantom and a host having you fight the phantom but get surprised by the host. Which has never fooled me, as soon as they chug I know.

I've even had random invaders while I was in NG+ do proper duels. Sure some of them were backstap fishing R1 spammers but they didn't chug!

If you can chug and they fail to punish you then it's their fault. Play to win.

It's basically a silent rule.

And if you don't follow it you are an asshole.

I experimented with a pure faith build and it's actually not bad in pvp. Use Saint's Talisman (switch out for sunlight against r1 spam) with 60 faith and the weapon art. Deal 1200+ damage against someone point-blank with Sunlight Spear, completely unparryable for those pesky Hornet Rings sluts. Bountiful Sunlight is nice for a passive regen, and of course there's Tears of Denial as well.

Haven't had too much success with other offensive miracles, so sadly this is an endgame build.

A lightning infused Lothric Knight Sword works well with its S faith scaling and it has a built-in crit bonus which is nice.

All-in-all, 8/10, pleasantly surprised, would recommend.

1) Wait your turn
2) Don't attack the host
3) Bow
4) Wait for your opponent to buff
5) Don't chug untill the other guy is dead

I'll bow but after that anything is fair game. If they want to stand still to buff then that's cool, they better do it fast before I get over there.

Replaying both Souls 3 and Bear Seek Seek Lest, partialy to get viable PvP builds in both.

I over leveled my original Souls 2 build to go through the DLC with full havels but I really prefer using the Hexer hood and Lion Mage set.

Souls 3 I made alot of mistakes that prevents me from doing the build I want proper so iv'e started over with with pyromancer as my base. I'm also going to be doing as many questlines as possible this time and the evil zombie dictator ending.

Ive mannaged the first 3 bosses in both without cheezing it with other players since probably Jabba te Hutt  or Laser Spider in my first souls 2 playthrough
