I've never cared about third-party support. And specs DON'T matter.

Just make quality games on an accessible system (ala N64/GC, not Wii/Wii-U) and I'll be satisfied.

I'm a consumer. Why do I care about the sales of a product I already like and will buy?

All I want is quality games, first or third party. Sony and Microsoft are already playing "follow the leader" with their bullshit, I don't need Nintendo to play along. Especially considering Nintendo seems like the one place where the company actually gives a shit about game quality and art over sales and profits.

Specs don't matter. I don't care about third party support either. However, I want a regular console. All Nintendo needs to do is launch a regular console with a regular controller. And have standard features. Let it play Blu-Ray/DVD. Have a good online system where we can play with friends and such. If they can do that. Then I'll buy it. And their games.

They're obviously not perfect and still care about profit but when you compare them to companies like Ubisoft who routinely puts out false advertisements for broken games or Microsoft that's legitimately shipped broken hardware to the masses, it's not difficult to be the lesser of two evils.

Specs kind of do matter - hear me out.

Lets say dev x makes a game. He can pretty much 'build once, release three times' since X1, PS4 and PC aren't all that different (granted PC is a special specimen but c'mon, we all know that 80% devs do a console port to PC).

Okay, now this dev looks at NX and realises that half the shit he could pull of on the other three systems (split-screen, 64 player MP, level size etc) simply cannot be done on NX.
Their options:
1) rebuild the game specifically for NX with features intact but toned done
2) Cut out the unsupported features
3) Ignore the additional workload and not support NX
