I suppose nowadays.  But you also don't have to worry about games crashing as much.  And I'd much rather use a controller to play a game, so it's frustrating when it's overly difficult to use one on pc.  It's mostly why I stopped playing Planet Side 2.

That's because you don't have your hand held when playing the game. No auto-aim on PC.

No, it wasn't that, It's that it's hard to properly map all the important actions to a controller.  That, and the menus didn't work, either.

What I meant is that I don't have an issue with pc gaming.  It just that when the games are optimized for, well, pc, and it becomes frustrating to use a controller (considering most games don't allow you to set two commands to a button.)

Why wouldn't you use a keyboard and mouse? You can become incredibly proficient when using it - moreso than using a controller.

I've tried, but it's not comfortable for me.  Plus I don't have the setup to use a mouse.  I only have a laptop.

Then again, we are a lazy bunch. Why think about nonsensical things like RAM,CPU Ghz's, power outputs and whether or not 'Modern-Gears-of-Battleduty-Warfield 5' will run ok, when you can just buy a box that is guaranteed to play a selection of games at a decent setting.


Then you factor in how many lazy people there are, then how many buy it, and then you're left with the people who know better, but all their friends have it. So it becomes a decision of "Buy expensive thing to play with friends", or "Buy cheaper thing that's better but alone"


With that being said, I'd rather buy parts and build my own PC over buying a pre-built one at an inflated cost. I wouldn't say either are a gigantic scam, but a scam nontheless.
