With the game only two months away, I thought it would be a good idea to have a XV thread since the launch is getting closer (plus XIV is in a lul period following patch 3.3 so there's not much activity going on in that megathread).

I got the Ultimate Collectors Edition preordered, and I have Platinum Demo finished and saved on my Xbox's HDD, I've been ready for the game for ten years. Is anyone else excited?

I don't think even most FF fans here (Gamer included) are super hyped for it. In fact I see him more excited for Dissidia than anything else. FF 15 doesn't look like it'll be bad, but I'm just getting an "eh okay I'll get it I guess" feel for it.

I think the years may have wore everyone down, which is unfortunate since SE seems to be pulling out all the stops for it. Everything about the story is intriguing to me, I really don't want it to be another Type-0 though.

This will be my first Final Fantasy game. My sentiments basically lie with Dunkey -- this game looks brilliant, you play as the Backstreet Boys with Kingdom Hearts gameplay. As long as the cringy Japanese writing is toned down it look to be pretty good.

Yeah the combat doesn't appeal to me in the slighest. It's amazing how much it's fall away from the classic turn based system to try and appeal to more people. As if it needed to.

The original six are very much western, so is XII and XIV, XIV sells like hotcakes but XII seems to have a much smaller following. Keep in mind XII is my number one favorite of all time.

What FF needs is western influence.

VII, XIII, and Type-0 are all WAY more weeabier than XV. Type-0 is a fucking group of teenage students for Christ's sake.

But arguably the best FF's are 6, 7, and 10. One could argue (taking the MMO out of it), that there hasn't been a good main installment FF since 10 back in 2001.

The original (1-6) FF games are medieval to the extreme. What are you on about? The closest FF got to the typical weeb thing was 10-2 and Type-0.
