The lattice update massively improved the game, most players loved the update when it first came out and they still do. It fixed a large problem with regional capture, and made it so idiots didn't just focus the crown all day, just most of the day.

The lattice update massively improved the game, most players loved the update when it first came out and they still do. It fixed a large problem with regional capture, and made it so idiots didn't just focus the crown all day, just most of the day.

It's kind of hard to say that most players loved the update when the games population tanked after its release. Also it made things worse since now biolabs couldn't be taken stealthily (forcing you to engage in meat grinder simulator 2013) and you still had crown issues due to the way the lattice lanes were laid out.

I'm looking up graphs, and I can't find a single one to suggest the population tanked.

Unfortunately the map I use to use for this now only goes back to Sep 2013. However even with that you can see that the population has been dwindling (and all the server merges reflect it) since then save for the spike during the Hossin update that quickly went back down to normal levels and continued to drop after.

I makes me strangely happy to read about all the hate Bungie has been getting. I actually just listed my Destiny game for sale a few days ago and I don't think I'll ever miss that game.
