]Its just the lie for me. I dont mind it one way or the other. They seem to place the FPS in contributing to making their game feel "cinematic" when thats the other stuffs job.

Any mod that could be conceived as "lore friendly" is something that the developers should have done themselves. For example--better graphics mods. It shouldn't be up to the community to fix your broke-ass game. The game should be good out of the gate. I shouldn't have to mod the game just to enjoy it, and if I have to, then why even bother? Play a game that's good even without mods.
Sprint and AAs in halo.

Sorry for multiple posts, I just keep thinking of more.
When the loading screen is up and it gives you a useless tip on the game. Like, stop.
When you're doing a multi battle with your friend in Pokemon, and they faint. Rather than being able to send out your own Pokemon in their place, you are stuck with an empty spot next to you and it turns into a 2v1 gank.
RNG-centric gameplay where the outcome of a battle is determined less by your own skill/mental finesse, and more by a series of arbitrary digital coin flips (very common in RPGs)
Purposefully misleading players during gaming conferences such as E3 and Pax.Aliens Colonial Marines, Watch Dogs and Destiny were notorious for this. The only game I can recall that actually lived up to its expectations and marketing was The Last Of Us.
Shame about the AI intelligence though.
