I think it's really great how Nintendo tried to give characters more distinguished personalities this time around, but I feel like anyone that's seen any shonen ever has met every one of these characters before. Zelda in particular (mostly because almost every bit of narrative revolves around her) is highly cliched. Protagonist with supposedly awesome powers by birthright struggles to discover them and ultimately saves the day by figuring out how to use them while facing the big villain, the emotional cues of failure and resentment towards peers with seemingly natural and undeserved talent, eventually recognizing their worth, etc. The four champions fit into very clear archetypes too.

Bit of spoilers about where BotW may fit on the timeline, not that it really matters:

It's confirmed that OoT, TP, and SS are connected to the game (directly, not in parallel stories). Princess Ruto (zora, OoT) is named in one of the zora history tablets and talks about her role in the game, but it's stated as taking place a very long time ago. The game likely takes place in the child era where Link goes back in time after OoT, goes to Termina, and eventually becomes the Hero's Shade. Ganon is again defeated in TP, and once more in Four Swords. Presumably, Hyrule rebuilt itself, the Sheikah clan developed technology (precursors to this are seen in some of TP's equipment and dungeons) and built the guardians and divine beasts. Ganon came back once more, was defeated, and 10,000 years later (with no games in between) reappeared at the start of BotW's story.

it's funny cuz the last time i talked to her i didn't have the master sword. now, i talked to her and she mentioned me having the sword again. i was like oh damn i haven't talked to her in a longass time lol

Question about Ceremonial Trident Zora side quest

What exactly are you supposed to do with the Trident at Veiled Falls? It says a poem or song or something but I'm not sure exactly what to do.

Do a jump attack to point the spear down into the glowing platform below. Don't do an attack from a paraglider, it won't work.

the only reason id want to get the last fairy is to improve my defense, but if i just get better at the game and never get hit then my defense doesn't matter

My first and only horse just got ganged up on by a couple of black bokoblins and died because I was being negligent.

It didn't help that one of them was firing bomb arrows and I was kind of panicking, but still. Genuinely upset.

Seeing Farosh is such an... experience. The music swells up and youre presented with this majestic beast swimming through the air. it's particularly special when youre just minding your business, then you randomly hear the music and look around for him only to be startled that he's 15 feet behind you.

Not sure if this is why you say that, but I definitely would have preferred the actions to be less passive, so that you could choose when to use them. Daruk's Protection and the charge attack ability activate whether I want to use it or not, often causing them to all be used up in the beginning of a big fight when I don't need them. You can turn them off in the inventory, but that just leads to more menu surfing.

I didn't really like the boss fight either, but what issues do you have with it?

I love how they all but confirm that Noble Pursuit is just straight-up alcohol. They don't even pretend it's milk anymore.
