So after playing for a bit, I have a few opinions on things

1. I think they should increase the submachine gun's damage ever so slightly, because right now it honestly feels insanely weak. Enemies feel bullet spongey when using it. You have to be touching tips for it to seem to be really effective, but like 10 yards out it feels much weaker (that's not very far).

2. The semi-auto guns on the medic class sound amazing to fire. The metallic clang is lovely

3. Weather change like the sandstorm MGS V style, is really really cool. Good way to counteract snipers on that map.
Its for the best that submachine guns aren't capable of doing what a rifle can at distance. They work just fine at medium/close range.

Haven't played yet, but have watched my brother trampling turks and cutting down cavalry on a horse whilst shouting: "HUSSOOOOOOR!" Roleplaying as Flashman has become a reality.

Other notes:

-Mondragon is OP semi-auto in a world of bolt actions (despite that gun being designed for mexicans who then failed to pay up) .

-Bayonet charging is an excellent retreat tactic if you need to run away fast

-(F?) flag is useless. Who the fuck at DICE thought putting a flag in bumfuck sandland would diversify the 2x3 flag layout in the main area?

-Horse jousting with bolt action rifles is a gentleman's sport, and hilarious to watch.

-Plane combat looks fantastic, though can take an age to take down an enemy and shooting spotted infantry is virtually non existent.

-Not sure about PC, but it looks amazing on PS4. Bomb craters, glistening sand, fully enterable (and mostly destructible) buildings, rock formations. Clearly Star Wars Battlefront was just a tech demo.
Mondragon with sniper scope is fantastic, I mop up kills like no tomorrow with 3/4 shots per person.

-Medics need more UI functions, some things kill people outright as opposed to dead-but-revivable
-Bodies disappearing before the counter is out and bodies getting fucked into terrain and objects also needs a fix
-Consistency between melee with a bayonet and melee with your weapon needs a massive fix. Why can I be interupted in a bayonet kill but nothing can touch me until I finish the regular melee-finish animation?
-Bayonets need some sort of lock on or increased hitboxes
-On bayonets, why can I sprint after a kill with one yet if I cancel the charge I'm left out of breath?
-There needs to be some sort of spawn protection if they leave spawning the way it is, constantly spawning on a teammate getting ganked isn't a fun process.
-Needs to be a timer on spawns too. Having no indication of that is irritating when you think you can spawn, but spamming A does nothing.
-What the fuck are menus Dice?
-People who aren't anti-tank need a second grenade. Light tanks are OP with the speed they have, pissing at them with one grenade they can shake off or avoid isn't good enough.
-Terrian interaction needs a rework. From bouncing off rocks, to not being able to climb knee high rocks even when the animation plays, to not being able to crawl over bumps in sand, the amount of problems I've come across with terrain is ridiculous.
-There needs to be a progress bar for unlocking stuff, I've played a shit ton of the recon class since the insider started and I barely reached level 1. Same with assault and it's frustrating to not have what seems like the basic equipment locked away behind an invisible wall.

I've forgotten a load of stuff I wanted to bring up, but honestly, this game with polish will be fun as hell. It is fun as hell right now.
But there are so many obvious problems that if they carry over into the final product, it will be an incrdible let down.

No I don't want them to do rifle distance damage, but the range drop off is just absolutely horrible. The range from 6 yards, as opposed to 10 for example, is horrible and it goes from a quicker kill, to bullet sponge hero. That's "distance" in this Beta.

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
I'm loving this Beta so far. I'm sold on buying the full game now.

The armored train is just too much fun. My team was down by nearly 100 points and I was conducting the train. We had a full party of people in and we nearly came back and won the match after we took all the points along the rail. I'm looking forward to other things like this on the other maps in the full game.

Some minor complaints:

- I don't really like how the new Conquest works. I'd much rather have the ticket system than playing until the time runs out and sees who has the most score from capping points so that way the games go on longer.

- I want the little screen that lets you see what your squad members are doing to come back. I've had too much spawns on my squad members where I didn't know they were in danger and I immediately die when I spawn.

- I had some troubles connecting with friends and the Beta crashed a few times but I have a feeling it just did this cause its a Beta and there's a ton of people playing.

Other than that, I'm having a blast with the game.

I adore the landship. 27 kill streak pls

Elsewise, the Automatico M1907 or whatever it is is my favourite weapon in the game. Capable at longer ranges but still good for CQC. I'm liking my medic class.


Now I've got gud I'm really enjoying this game. Looking forward to release.

People saying SMGS are weak or need a bit more range baffles me, they devastate at close range for a reason, and you can hip fire the damn trench gun and hit people still.

Maybe picking a different variant?

I am also getting kills much further than whats being complained about with said SMGS, they feel fine and theyre not weak, the fact everyone's running with them on rush is saying as much.

As mentioned in another thread

I felt severely gimped by it's bullet velocity and range. Not only that, the first semi has better hip fire and range than the SMG's making them bottom feeder like in BF4.

25 Damage at 5 meters drops off to 12 damage at 8 meters.That's "range" in Battlefield. And if the range wasn't so shit, I wouldn't mind the velocity.

You can, but you have to do it while you have your cursor over a free tank slot in the respawn menu.
