The acclimatisation period was unpleasant, the UI is a bit clunky and the game was full of 'what the fucks' but after getting through it and getting into the swing of things it's been a lot of fun.

A few bugs as expected, namely the class progress is not being saved if you keep playing the same server (so requeue/rejoin/leave after each match to level up). Tanks feel worse to fight as infy because nobody has the AT rocket gun yet, which levels the playing field a little bit more in open ground.

Overall it's got a great feel to it, after getting used to how it plays it'll be good to pull some fun memes in it too. Gas trooper squads for example e.e

I'm not liking the rifles being semi, but I am loving being able to close and open doors and the vehicle animations. It's about time we see our character entering something rather than them being teleported into it. It's depression playing this game due to how shitty Battlefront turned out to be.

yes it goes under the fps genre

it'd hold more weight if you said "another military shooter", but it's WW1 so it's not like the new CoD in terms of things already done.

Im actually not having fun. All the classes are useless and all everyone uses is the sniper. Terrible map for the beta as well

pointing out the overabundance of FPS games is hardly a shitty criticism, but w/e

it's not even a criticism of the game--it's a criticism of the market

I'd argue going different and going WW1 is a nice refresh. If it was another modern/near/future FPS, then we'd have reason to be annoyed. They haven't done a notable triple A WW2 game since World at War, which was a nice send off for its time.

I'm hoping we go back to these wars. WW1/2. It's been too long and we've been away from it long enough. Maybe a conflict that doesn't get many games on it.

The air combat is enjoyable.

Some dude nearly shot me down but landed in front of me after I decelerated for repairs. I ended up grounding myself next to the enemy and spent the final 3 minutes of the round crouching and shooting at the sand for communication. A few of his squad-mates spawned nearby, but didn't attack either.

Played my first match as assault. Died a few times, then got gud and managed to get a few kills with the MP-18. UI is clunky but I liked being able to turn everything on rather than just context stuff.

MGs are shit (again) but aside from that its pretty fun.

Oh and then the servers died or something because I tried to go into pause menu to adjust my tank controls, the game froze, my xbox wouldn't respond then the game crashed and now I get unknown errors when trying to connect. So back to Fallout for the time being.

Played more, still had more fun on 4 than this, but actually leveling up my class and game, its get better.




Shot a full burst of a mounted machine gun into a horse, it didn't even falter, I wonder if people would complain had they made horses die easily, because so far, I haven't seen a horse be killed by gunfire

That was my problem, it seems. Last night wasnt fun for me, but given last nights attempt, and today's more focused attempt; I got more stuff and I lasted longer, got more kills and enjoyed it more.

Hopefully you enjoy it more today.
