On PC, definitely not. There's like, two servers running on PC across the world.

On consoles... maybe? For a fiver, it's not too bad though I doubt it will have much player retention once BF1 drops. BF4 still has tens of thousand playing at peak times so I'd definitely say that's worth it.

Also there's a quite a lot of people here who play BF4 on xbox one, so there's that too.

Should mention that the Premium Edition is also at a reduced price, ~£12.

Didn't really want to spend much for BF4 ever because reasons, but I need a shooter that isn't Destiny. Care for some gear grinding later anyone?

I don't think there's DLC map pack that's free right now, but I think the Night Operations, LEgacy Operations, and Community Operations maps are always free.

The free-lc packs are always available and add three new maps (one is a night-map) but really only the Dragon Valley one is good/worth the DL (Legacy).

Ye, don't worry about the vehicle stuff too much. As an example of last night, we had one round with an infantry group dug in outside the enemy spawn to hold off their tank onslaught whilst Tru and I were cleaning up the map points in an attack chopper. Then there are other maps where it's primarily infantry for the full squad or more.
