But I suppose if they took one look at the game, and the wars and fights (front lines), they'd know they didn't send in women as first infantry. So they claimed the "authenticity" argument was on shaky ground.

Okay, the Russian front did rely on swarm tactics and began scraping the bottom of the barrel in 1917, especially after Hungarian involvement in Transylvania and the horrible failed offenses of 1916.

The real "famous" examples of voluntary Russian female service weren't until WWII though, and even then they're not well known. Raskova's 588th Night Bomber Regiment of the Russian Air Force is probably the best known example and almost nobody actually knows of them.

I don't see why it matters. It's an early 20th century game, female soldiers were very rare. I'm pretty sure the few that served in russia before russia pulled out had to dress up and act like men anyway.
