Only a few weeks until Battlefield 1 releases now, even less if you buy into EA's stupid EA Access scheme to play 10 whole hours of the game before launch (lol).

EA being EA aside, the game is looking like something special. Where else can you remove kebab as the glorious british empire? e.e

I'll put BF1 videos and news in here but this isn't some megathread type of deal, this is actually an anti-megathread to prevent one being made in the first place. I'll also be putting the BF1 server details in here when it goes live and we rent one out.

No Mans Sky ended up making my cancel my pre-order for this and Gears 4 as well. I'm going to wait and see what the game launches with so I don't get screwed again. I'm hoping this game launches with a decent amount off content, unlike Battlefront which 99% of the maps are DLC.

We've got 9 maps at launch and a 10th coming free in Nov/Dec, gametypes from the top of my head are Rush, CQ, Operations, Pigeon Wars, Domination and something else that I forgot.

In terms of netcode/bugs, I highly doubt this game will have the problems BF4 had at launch. Betting that DICE LA gave this game a lot of love and even EA probably wanted to take the time to make this perfect.

Still had a huge problem with this game's time to kill. I thought Hardline's was too fast, and this feels like double that.

EA and DICE did specify they wanted to get this launch right. BF4's launch was horrible PR damage, and another one with the hype BF1 is getting, would surely spell a lot of issues for EA.

It shouldn't have many problems. One thing I can say about Battlefront, other than the amazing graphics and sound, is that I had no problems whatsoever with it. I played a launch day too.

Nobody has seen the exact way it plays but it's been changed from the beta version to be more like old CQ

Yeah but those maps had like 20x20 textures, no destruction and a lot of empty space. They were nowhere near as complex as something like Sinai Desert or St. Quentin's Scar.

Really need to buy a new HDD as the default 500GB has run out fairly quickly.

No telling if the story will be good. Or the encounters. BF3 and 4 were both bad. But this is supposed to be more open, so maybe. Either way, great trailer.

It's like they wanted to get rid of strafing and ducking for cover. Sure, it's more realistic to get picked off while you're running, but it diminishes skill, adds frustration when you die like that, and lessens the value of a kill. I don't see who wins with that. The people complaining about netcode, I guess?

Especially when they do the final charge and he's dying constantly, you just end up feeling miserable watching another guy take the place of the one who you just got killed.

Wow. That's all I can say. I hope the narrative in this SP transcends just "good vs bad", because WW1 was so much more complicated than WW2, and if you ask me, much more tragic in a way.

The SP intro one is amazing too. I reallllly need to get this on launch day. The narrative looks so damn strong, which astounds me considering DICE only really made a decent campaign with BC2.

Maybe they needed a historical war to throw a tragedy spin on it.

There's gonna be an achievement for making it all the way without having any soldiers die isn't there?

I don't think you can, certain deaths there were scripted but ones like the first part are just a matter of how long you survive against infinite spawns of krauts.

When I word it like that it loses it's magic tho
