I tried testing out a map with a gamemode. The map works fine but the game mode won't work at all. Know anything to fix that?(it's not the actual mode, i've tried multiple maps and multiple custom game modes.)

you have to change the base gametype before you select the custom one for it to work properly

I don't really need remakes though, I need custom maps that are good for game nights and NOT for competitive.

Erm, well that's a tough one. The Reach game nights I hosted usually had ridiculous maps for race and infection variants (and sometimes Invasion if we had enough people), but Halo 5 has neither built-in. My impression of Halo 5's Forge is that it's elaborate but strongly leans towards competitive maps. Good luck >.>
