are there any games like final fantasy tactics on steam?

I want a game like final fantasy tactics but don't want to spend 15 dollars for war of the lions. Are there any games with tons of party customization that are also isometric turn based RPGs? And not shit?

The first one is free on xbox yes. I think it's enemy within too, which is the "expansion" to the original.

XCom is pretty dissimilar to FF Tactics, though.

It's in the same genre and it's the closest you'll get to it on steam. The only other (good) games I can think of are in the Fire Emblem franchise and those are on 3DS now so they aren't an option for him.

I mean I have a 3ds but just said steam because of the sale and I don't feel like going to the store

The genre is really diverse, though. The new Xcoms aren't isometric and play very differently; personally FF Tactics is one of my favorite games, while I really dislike Xcom.

Been playing a couple hours of xcom and this game would be great if crits didn't exist in a game with perma death and if every single one of my new recruits hasn't been a sniper

Xcom is bretty good so far, really enjoying other than the fact like I have like 15 snipers and 1 support.

I wish there was more jobs all together actually
