Anyone here have DOOM? How is it?

I'm curious as to how the game is. My only experience with DOOM was the movie unfortunately, and my 3rd grade teacher had DOOM 3 years ago but never brought it to class.

I downloaded it alongside Hell on Earth a few years back and played them a lot, but I've only played Doom 3 once or twice.

Single Player is awesome. The game is wonderfully over-the-top. The lore in the game is actually pretty cool, it's sort of like Dark Souls lore in that you have to piece things together. Doomguy's new backstory is awesome, it's basically what you would get if you asked a twelve year old to come up with the most metal and badass backstory he could think of. Gameplay is amazing and intense. I highly recommend playing on Ultra-Violence difficulty, as Hurt Me Plenty can be a bit easy at times.

It's worth it for the single player alone. MP isn't bad, I just wish it was all pickups rather than loadouts.

D44M is pretty great. Singleplayer anyway, multiplayer is just good.

Its a must-buy. Not even being an id fan boy or anything.

If you got Watch_dogs instead of Wolfenstein last year - don't repeat the same mistake this year and pick Doom up.

He brought Halo 2 and Spider-Man 2 all the time so its all good. He had the strategy guide for DOOM 3 and he brought that to class one time and I went through it.
