Anyone ever played the first Just Cause?

It's a super fun game, but it seems that no one remembered it or has played. Whenever i talk about the game with my friends, they always say, "I played the 2nd one but not the 1st one."

So anyone here play/like the first of the series?

I played it a bit when it came out because it had a Mercs vibe to it, but it just felt weird.

Yeah, the protag was annoying though so I didn't finish it.
