Looks like after you copy and paste a game 16 times, the 17th time screws it up.

They've fixed the eyes, given a variety of body builds, increased the hair style and facial hair options, improved ball handling and physics, thousands of new animations (including Red Sox antics) and added more rpg-ish aspects a la NBA 2017 to the RTTS game mode.

For most other games the "copy/paste" joke applies but with The Show it actually feels like a very different and new game year to year. Easily my most played and most enjoyed out of any sports game.
That's a pretty huge patch.

Like what? (Actually curious)
Quote from: TBlocks on March 21, 2017, 01:08:10 AMLike what? (Actually curious)street fighter gets huge patches every quarterusually packed new characters, stages, balance changes, mechanics, game modes, model updateswe're not talking thousands of useless/pointless animation, sure, but in terms of the content itself, you're getting more extra shit with a single patch for street fighter than you are for an annual $60 MLB gameso yeah sports games are still pretty scamtastic
So how does that make it more of a scam than Doom, Street Fighter 4, or any of the other thousands of games that don't offer free post game content?
The Show games offer zero DLC
also>actually buying every single update of a sports gameim laffin, the updates are always much cooler when you have two years between them on average. Only reason I'm getting 17 is because the players look like Oblivion characters and because this iteration fixes 90% of my issues with 16. I probably won't buy another installment until 2019 or 2020.
Whereas I can give you ten franchises where you can purchase their games every single year, and I'll promise you that, even if you don't like the games in question, they offer substantially more content than you would expect to be in a simple patch or DLC update.

And I generally don't think it's worth buying a sports game every year. Doesn't mean that it isn't also true that The Show falls outside the copy/paste nonsense of EA Sports games. They have 9 months to do everything, yeah, but you can tell they give a shit about it instead of doing a slight line tweak and updating Madden Ultimate Team like the NFL guys at EA. If it took four years for Madden to be "worth it", then The Show would take two years.
It should be every year, is my contention. If they MUST release a game every year, then none, zip, zero of your games should just be skippable throwaways.
When I heard there was new commentators I feared for Matty V. cause playing MLB games since 2006 has made me so used to his voice. Hearing his voice on TV now is actually really strange but incredibly enjoyable. Plesac is fine. Reynolds I'm not excited about.
