I still haven't played OSRS. I don't wanna start over. RS3 isn't bad really to me with legacy mode and UI on.

For real though, buy feathers at 1gp under market price and sell them at market price. Or 1 up.

It starts off slow but when you start buying 100k feathers, then reselling them for 100k profit etc, shit goes real fast.
You can make a few million through people's impatience really quite fast.

Or go to the giant cave near the GE and just nab the bones/coins from the drops.

only practical money makers is farming herbs. slayer doesn't get good until 70 for Wyverns and Kurasks

Haven't played seriously since 2008, but from what I recall, the stats for the cape were very well rounded, kind of like the Viking helmet from that one island if you couldn't get a Dragon Med Helm.

it's +9 in all defense stats. literally the only people who should be using it are ultra niche pk accounts that don't have protection prayers

I don't think that's true. Right now RS3 has about 20,000 more people playing it than OSRS. And later in the day when both games have more players. From what I've seen, RS3 still usually always has more. I've never seen OSRS have more. Neither game even can manage to hit 100K even anymore it seems.

The online player count on the website includes both games. Old school has always been the most active of the two ever since it launched in 2013

Ehh, I guess I'll try blast furnace. What level do I need to grind to for it to be profitable?

I just figure slowly working on slayer and doing herb runs on the side is more productive since it also raises my combat lvl.

Problem is I don't have nearly enough coal for it to be profitable and nobody seems to be selling on  the GE.

blast furnace lets you use half the required coal to make a bar of anything.

either way you can still make a decent profit as a newb
making one costs 2 coal + 1 mith ore = 553 (using wiki ge prices)
bars sell at 766
you can make around 2300 bars an hour if you don't slack and with that you get just 500k/hr
