But I guess in the end -- Sort of feels like everyday its harder to stay happy where you are. There are all these ways to look through the fence into your neighbor's yard.

Why even risk it? its safer to stay distant.
Skyrim still sets a benchmark for modern games, and Fallout 4 looks to be packed with an obscene amount of content. I'm getting pretty sick of these mopey threads talking about how shitty Fallout 3 was supposed to be, how boring Skyrim is (hint: if you're bored in Skyrim, you're a boring fucking person and there's no fixing that)

I can understand where your guys thoughts are coming from for Skyrim's Story. However we can all agree that Morrowind had a better story then Skyrim.
Morrowind had a better everything than Skyrim, minus combat, but even then Skyrim's problem with everything was it was incredibly bland.
To be fair, FPS melee combat is hard to get right. Chivalry and Vermintide are pretty much the only games that did it properly, and those both came out after Skyrim.
mount and blade warband had good fps sword play and it came out in 2010
