Am I the only one who liked Skyrim's story

For me, they did fine (I still think Morrowind had a better story though) I still liked Skyrim's story, I'm not the only one am I?

I enjoyed it as well. People shit on Bethesda for no reason, the whole premise of Cyrodiil losing a war to the elves is a really interesting premise, and the Dominion was the best TES antagonist we've gotten so far. Because most of the games have shown the Imperial Empire to be more or less the strongest force in the land, the fact that they got destroyed by the high elves makes hating them more "personal", in a way.

I can rarely bother to get through it whenever I decide to play Skyrim.

I think I only ever completed it once.

I prefer the DLCs' stories more.

But that wasn't the main storyline, that was an interesting part of the game, but the whole thing with the dragons and the "epic fight" at the end was really lame

That ties into the premise, though, as the elves wanted Alduin to succeed.

Anyway, the main quest of Skyrim wasn't as good as the faction and daedric quests, but it was still decent. I'd say Oblivion and Morrowind have it beat, but Skyrim is still the best game overall.

It does but the Thalmor didn't have a heavy impact on the main storyline.

Also Morrowind > Oblivion > Skyrim, Oblivion was a good game, but it wasn't the best. Not saying that Skyrim is a shit game, just wasn't impactful like Morrowind was.

Skyrim's an awesome game and the Empire/ Stormcloak/ Thalmor stuff should have been given centre stage. The dragon shite was really weak, imo. It's honestly better to just not do the MQ so you don't get dragons spawning every ten minutes.

Morrowind had a better everything than Skyrim, minus combat, but even then Skyrim's problem with everything was it was incredibly bland.

To be fair, FPS melee combat is hard to get right. Chivalry and Vermintide are pretty much the only games that did it properly, and those both came out after Skyrim.

Yeah but even mods for combat have shown that the system they have could have depth to it. Bethesda just chose not to.

The mods have made it worth sinking hours into, but even then I still found a lot of it unrewarding. No mod can fix the bad writing or bland voice acting of every single NPC. Like the video said: Every NPC feels like the most boring NPC and every quest they give you feels like the most boring quest.

It all boils down to "I have a story I wish to tell you. I will now provide exposition to said quest. I will now tell you to be careful. Anyway, I need you to fetch this item."

Don't get me wrong, Skyrim is very bland. The modding community is pretty much the only thing that saved it, but the one thing I won't fault Skyrim for is it's combat. It was definitely bland, but back in 2011 no game had actually prefected FPS melee. However, when TESVI comes rolling in, Bethesda will have no excuse for having a shitty melee system, because it's already been prefected by other games.

If Fallout 4's any good indicator of future combat in Bethesda games, then I wouldn't have anything to worry about, because that combat is fantastic
