Activision's getting worse than EA

Get the fuck out Activision. They seriously believe they can justify getting people to pay £40 for two old games and their dlc? It's not even as if they're remastered, it's not even as if they have got the same optimisation treatment Halo 3 and 4 got in the MCC.

What's more, this comes at a time when these games really should be part of the XB1 backwards compatibility program in the next year or so. Oh wait; some bright spark at Activision thought it would be a great plan to try and squeeze as much money from these two games before they became available for free (or not allow them into the program-which they'd never do due to the bad publicity that'd generate for a publisher already under-fire)

And for any Americans that this isn't resonating with due to monetary considerations, £40 is exactly $62.50

You think that's bad? Xbox store is charging £60 for Fallout 4, which I imagine Bethesda set that price.

Another plus that I've added to PC gaming as of recently: you don't need to put up with Super Remastered Definitive Buy Our Game Again Collections being thrown in your face, because they already ran at 1080p + 60 FPS to begin with, and the only backwards compatibility issues you have to deal with are maybe having to edit a few files for ancient games on a new OS.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.
Do they even set the price?

I'm not saying remasters don't exist on PC, but more and more remakes/bundles of not-that-old games are sprouting up lately, for the new generation at a $40-60 price tag.  I understand their purpose, and the work that goes into some of them, but it's still pretty cheap.

Take the Handsome Jack Collection.  I got BL2:GOTY for $10, and Pre Sequel for $12.  There were a ton of people who were excited to wait until last March to buy the same game on a new console, at a jacked-up price, all over a smoother framerate and nicer look.  Meanwhile, the bundle doesn't exist on PC, because they could run that from the start, and look even nicer with PhysX.

Another example is Tomb Raider: Definitive Ed.  Picked it up the original for something like $3 way before the Definitive edition came out, and it runs better and looks nicer.

That said, I just looked, and Activision is still charging $60 for Prototype 1 and 2 together on Steam, which is retarded.

When original Xbox games still worked online on the 360, all the Halo 2 DLC was free

Yes, the publisher is partially responsible, and given Activsion's track record with pricing (see: Destiny DLC, CoD, etc...) i'm going to stick my neck out and say that it's unlikely Radical Entertainment were the ones to push for such a ridiculous  figure.

EA has been making the odd effort to turn it's image around, it's by no means perfect but lately they have been somewhat less shit. Whereas Activision is going balls to the wall down the drain.

That's still $10 cheaper than if you were to buy them both for the 360 off the marketplace.

Fallout 4 comes with Fallout 3 on XB1. I guess that's meant to justify tht one.

The marketplace is the most over-priced place ever. Sometimes the discounts are really good (like GTA 4 for 5€ wasn't bad at all or Deus Ex for 5€), but other than that - everything is over-priced.

I'm not saying that it isn't over priced. This game will probably join the group of backwards compatible games so if you want to find an old copy that's cheaper then great! But some people would rather buy it digital and this will give them a $10 discount on it, as well as make it available to them directly on the Xbox One.

Sales prices don't really count for that though, if they did, I could say that the MCC is overpriced because all the games were $5 at one point.

I think you kind of missed the point of my post. I wasn't saying it wouldn't be available, I was saying that it would be cheaper this way and you wouldn't have to play it through the emulator.

Yes, but the MCC is not comparable to this Prototype bundle-so much less content, nothing new on offer at all.

And what's more, this bundle is only on XB1-wonder why... Hmm, is it perhaps because they're money-grabbing before backwards compatibility comes in?

Oops.

Anyways, you can't use steam as a gauge for console price justification, console prices never dip below £5 for most games- so actually £55 for Fallout 4 and £5 for Fallout 3 is pretty reasonable
