Seriously, if you start playing video-games any later you suck-not only are you at a disadvantage but it also means that you'll have missed out of some great games.

Instead of your head being filled with kiddie tv shit and stuff you grow up with explosions, epic stories, emotional journeys and works of interactive art.

You didn't play games when you were four, at least not FPS, RPG, etc...maybe basic platformers. I have a nephew who is four and still shits his pants, no way you played Halo at that age and could comprehend any of it.

We always say to fight fire, you must use fire. This is wrong. Fighting fire with fire will leave scars and a new flame will rise. We must instead use water. It is the opposite of fire, it extinguishes the fire, it cools, it refreshes, it heals. We are made up of 70% water, we are not made up of 70% fire. Please practice what we truly are
I think 8 years of age an old is a good start for video games.. seven and younger year olds should still being playing manly with action figures and doing outside stuff

I never said Halo.

I was playing Tomb Raider, Dino Crisis, Battlefront 2, GTA:SA and Commandos 2 at 4. Plus my GBA, so Final Fantasy, Fifa and Pokemon Emerald on that. I actually asked specifically for BF2 because i'd been reading one of my mum's PS2 mags (helps how my mother was a gamer, she once made my father return a ring because she'd specifically asked for a PS1).
Perhaps I started early but it's done me no harm

It's football, soccer is a lazy term, a shortening of Association FOOTBALL. Association Football to differentiate from Rugby Football (Rugby)

I think the best time to start playing video games is when you can read... because at that point, you have the ability to comprehend symbols and can begin to understand BASIC motives of characters and grasp stories over a long period of time.

Also, you can play games like Pokemon and understand what's going on.

So, light platformers like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro are what I would want my child to play after they learn to read, as well as Pokemon Red and Blue.

It wouldn't be until they were 8 or 9 that I would sit down and play games like Halo CE, MGS, etc.

If you honestly think a child could enjoy, let alone comprehend, a game like Halo 1, Mass Effect or any other somewhat complex game, you're out of your tree. This is where I call bullshit on the fact that you've been playing these kinds of games since you were 4.

I mean, unless you're some kind of super-mature, 170+ IQ mastermind. Which is evidently not the case.

Playing them, not necessarily being very good at them or understanding them.
At 4 I was good at BF2 and could complete a couple of levels of Commandos 2. I was shit at Tomb Raider and Dino Crisis, I was about 6 before I got any good at them

That's what I tell my niece. Maybe not as blunt as "you're too stupid", though. Aha.

She says she wants to play Halo or Pokemon with me. I tell her I'll let her play if she learns to read (which she doesn't want to).

I'm only mean to him because he literally does whatever he can to annoy me and make me want to kill myself, which is why I love the days when he goes to his grandma's house. He also has a shitty attitude when he doesn't get what he want. He kicked me in the face once because I didn't let him play xbox with me( I don't know why he was so pissed, I have never let him use it), let's just say my right hand paid a visit to his left cheek afterwards.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
I was playing Pokemon Pinball, SMB, and Sonic the Hedgehog when I was three, and I can assure you that my video game skills are lacking.

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
I started when I was 3.

I would watch my older brother play games that I didn't know what to do in. That's when I fell in love with Starcraft. I would always watch him play Starcraft and when he didn't I bugged him to play it so I can watch. Then one day he let me play and that's when it all started for me.

Racers, platformers, twin stick shooters, beat em ups... Those seem okay for a 4 y/o. Honestly, you'll regret playing good games when you were young because a 4 y/o can not understand a story or even basic gameplay mechanics.
