All the other components are fairly mid-range, maybe on the upper end. But that's like a $320 processor right there, and I just upgraded to a 3.4 five months ago.

For frames and frames alone. An i3 would factually effect your GPU and limit it, so getting something more up to par would just make it handle easier.
