I like settlements but I fully agree, there is nothing wrong with a bit of custom base building but going whole hog with all this stuff is bleeeeeeeh

I enjoyed the settlements mechanic.

But I'd be quite happy to never see it in a future Fallout again.

Far Harbour is decent but gets boring. The map is pretty bland. Plus Bethesda tries to push the shitty Children of Atom faction even more.

While the settlement stuff is rather overwhelming, I enjoy playing.

I still haven't started Far Harbour as I'm going through the campaign, vanilla side quests and creating a robot transport network for my settlements from Automaton. Had a brief glance at Vault 88 and realised it would be a huge time and resource sink, and have left it for when I finish everything else.

I'll admit that the DLC has been dissapointing as most of it is settlement expansion packs when I was thinking it would be more like Fallout 3/NV's new stories (though Automaton was a decent mix of the two). I can see why they've pushed it like crack though, to some people it's addictive and adds a inumerable amount of hours of gametime scouring the Wastes for resources and planning the perfect settlement, but a lot came for the "Fallout" bit, and thought Fallout Shelter dabbled enough into micromanagement.

I don't hate the game. I actually like it. As an open-world shooter, it's decent, and despite what I say about it, I do find enjoyment in settlements.

It just sucks at being a Fallout game.

Loved the game until they turned it into Wasteland Simulator 2016 with the retarded DLC plan they got going for it

I don't even touch the game now because of it. All the settlement bullshit they've sold as DLC could have been added through title updates. The only one I guess that would make sense as DLC is the Vault one.
