hey
Yeah, I'm kind of wanting to play NV again >.>

but i just know im going to get annoyed by the awful combat and its going to ruin it even though its an amazing game

But honestly, having a set character isn't my main gripe, it's just the lack of choice, I don't mind playing a set character, it can be done REALLY well (The Witcher/Geralt for example, his past and story is basically already all set out yet it doesn't limit your choices, there's a lot of choices that you can make and The Witcher 3 is one of my favourite RPGs). I think a problem here is that Bethesda's come and given us a set character, but they've still made the game feel as if it's built for creating your own character, and it doesn't work out very well.

It's just... Really jarring, I guess? I was wondering what felt off about dialogue in the game, I wanted to create my own character with her own personality but I couldn't, even though the game seemed to want me to do it. If they had built the game more around the fact that you do have a set character then it could've been MUCH better. Having a set character doesn't limit choice, and I could play through games like Mass Effect or The Witcher multiple times, I guess Bethesda really aren't so great at making different styles of games >.>

I think it helps because the world around said characters compliments them too. Like Shepard and his backstories, and either dialogue option. Same with the Witcher. It feels like Fallout 4 has a character who's personality, regardless of what you choose, that doesn't mesh well with the persistent universe and setting they throw at you.

Or something. I don't know.

Yeah I agree, maybe the backstory for the character wasn't the best one given the circumstance. Like, if the Sole Survivor wasn't from before the war and already had themselves established in the world, at least partly, (And they had the title "Sole Survivor" from experiencing something else) then a set character could've worked a lot better.

Maybe from a village, had a wife and kid, and they got killed by raiders and you manage to get out or something and have to find out who ordered the hit, and it changes into something much more.

I like the idea of pre-war and it sets up interesting dialogue at times, but the trade off for the disconnected character in the world kinda kills it.

One thing I find a little jarring is how, if you play as the female character, it's a bit odd how you are an expert at using power armour and pretty much any weapon you find. It made sense for the male protagonist as he had military experience, but not so for the female. That's a bit of suspension of disbelief there, though I guess no more than the Lone Wanderer in F3.

I like the pre-war prologue, but I think it would have been better if you got to choose from a selection of jobs when the Vault-Tec guy is asking you questions which could give you some base SPECIAL stats (IE Lawyer for high charisma, military for high Endurance, scientist for high intelligence and so forth) or do your own special stats and type ypur own job, which they could have a system for characters to say 1000 different jobs like names- it would allow you to have choice in your backstory and accurately reflect your capabilities in the wasteland.

Okay so you can use the duplication glitch on YOU'RE SPECIAL book to max out all your stats. I'm planning on making a save with it now so I can have a save for future reference if/ when it gets patched.

Started making the Castle my main settlement. Got a restaurant and hospital going at the moment, still some improvements to be made, though.

Wat r u, casul?
I am disappointed by the heavy weapons in this game. The balance is terrible and the selection is small.

The gatling laser is the best one, by far. Good accuracy, excellent DPS, and most importantly plentiful ammo supply.

Minigun is alright, but the ammo limitation kills it.

Fat Man is still Fat Man. Powerful but impractical. Still tons of fun, though.

Missile launcher's function hasn't changed, either. Crowd erasing power, but limited by ammunition.

Broadsider is shit.

Junk Jet is shit.

Flamer is fun, but kinda shitty. The nozzle upgrades are TERRIBLE. 5 more damage for almost no range? No thank you.

No Telsa Cannon. Bethesda should throw in the towel for making this decision.

All-in-all, WeDidn'tTryMuch/10.

Gunna start setting up a cosplay for next year, of course its gotta be Fallout related.

What do you guys think is the most iconic armor besides Power Armor?

Im thinking the Colonial Duster (Prestons atire) and damn I gotta build a laser musket.

May even go to one of the Earlier Expos in it again, but for later on in the year, we need a new groove.

the first act was kind of shallow but the stuff where you start helping your preferred faction was great.

I didn't like how kind of unrealistic it was.

He shot in the head
Track the guy down and shoot him in the head
Then you either
1.)take over Nevada with the help of a weird robot
2.) help some weird old guy take over Nevada
3. Help another old guy with cancer that cnat even replicate a good army right take over nevada
4.) help some butt it's take over Nevada
