FE is definitely over-represented (there's actually six FE reps now), but Samus is pretty much the only noteworthy Metroid character who would fit in with the rest of the roster, and F-Zero hasn't been relevant since... basically ever. Captain Falcon remains only because he's part of the original 12, and because he's a meme.

Oh, I was talking more about in general for F-Zero/Metroid, specifically in the lack of production of a new significant title in recent years. I agree that even including Samurai Goroh, Blood Falcon or Black Shadow would really be stretching it, and I'm anti-ridley on the Metroid front. It just seems like Sakurai or Nintendo are trying way too hard to push Fire Emblem with Sm4sh.

They have no excuse to not make a new title. "We don't know what we can do to add something new to the franchise" doesn't hold up when they've been shitting out remakes like nobody's business for the past few years.
