Wrote this story years ago. Was probably one of the most well received on B.Old. I can post the rest of it in spurts if its so desired.

Chapter 1.
Emergence of a new home.
Zion. Once believed to be a heavenly city of religious nature. A city of peace, a city of new life. The Human race has been through many trials; such as war, famine, plague, and now the death of their home planet. Since the last hundred years, scientists have searched the stars for a new home. With each passing year, Earth steps closer to destruction.
In an act of desperation, many humans took to the stars, hoping to find a suitable home-- but that was many years ago. Some have given up hope.
Until now.

"Houston, this is Razgrez 1. Scanners are picking up an atmospheric anomaly in grid 1.1.5. over." The scanner inside the ship bleeped loudly through everyone's ears. Something has begun to form beyond the Moons horizon.
"Razgrez 1, this is Houston. We are assessing the anomaly at this time. Stand by for update, over." The ship shakes violently, as the anomaly becomes more and more severe. The crew aboard are on the edge of their seats, as they witness a miracle take place. From the blackness of space emerges giant rocks, some the size of small planets. All massing together at the center of the anomaly.
The giant space rocks begin to take a shape, as if someone was carving them with their own hands. Flashes of light shine from the formation, blinding the crew in the ship, and also everyone down below on Earth.
The Earths inhabitants are at a stand still. Everyone, and everything is now witnessing the birth of a new home.
"Its, Its a planet" one of the crewmen said in shock. The size of this new planet is twice that of Earths. Watching the planet form right before their own eyes, the crews hearts pound, each beat sending a thought of amazement into their minds.
A sudden flash of light erupts from the planet. Temporarily blinding everyone who gazes at it.
Once the dust settled, and their vision returned to normal. Behold, out in the darkness holds a perfectly formed planet.
The size of it sends a chill down the crews spines. The home they have been searching for all of these years, has now formed at their front door.
"Razgrez 1, this is Houston. Your orders are now to send a research probe to the new planet, and await in orbit for I.R. confirmation over."
Not listening to the last transmission. The crews' Captain unbuckles himself from his chair. "Sir, what are you doing" his co-pilot said to him. Floating around the ship like a fish in water, the Captain places himself at the telescope.
"Sir, we have new orders. We cannot waste time with this right now" his co-pilot said again. "I know our orders, Lieutenant. Stand down, I have to see this" the Captain said vigorously.
Looking at the planet through his telescope, he can see something forming at the surface. From there current distance, he cant make out what it is. "Crew. Prep the ship for probe launch, we have a planet to get to."
Chapter 2.
A Miracle From God.
"Set right flaps at 20 degrees. OK now take us 2.56 knots into planetary orbit." The Captain, and his Lieutenant shifted the craft into the proper obit line around the new planet. "Captain, the research probe is prepped and ready for launch" one of the crewmen said over the intercom.
"Houston, this is Razgrez 1. We are at t-minus 20 seconds for probe launch. Stand by I.R. frequency data over." The Captain flips numerous switches to make sure this probe launch will not fail. Checking the flight plan twice wile also looking at the computer data reassures him that the launch will be a success.
"Razgrez 1, this is Houston. We are a go for probe launch. Start the countdown at t-minus 20 seconds. The entire world is watching you, make us proud. Over."

With a sudden burst of life, the research probe launched itself from the ship. The specter trail from the flame bursts lit a path way into the mystical beyond. "Captain, we have touchdown of probe" the crewman handling the controls stated. "Roger that. Houston, this is Razgrez 1. We have touchdown of research probe. Awaiting further instruction over" the Captain said.
"My God! Captain you need to see this" the crewman said. Floating over to the control station, the Captain can see a thing of beauty on the screen. Less than five hours ago this planet has already began to show signs of life. Now, it thrives with trees, grassy hilltops which span as far as the sight of the human eye. A true miracle, a new home at long last.
"Houston, this is Razgrez 1. Uhh are you guys seeing what I am? This planet has already grown a full natural habitat over" the Captain said in shock. Gazing at the monitor like it was the fist time he ever seen beauty, the sheer amount of trees and life that has already grown stunned him.
"Razgrez 1, this is Houston. We do see the life on the planet, and so does the rest of the world. You have given us what we lost so long ago. Hope!"
The humans below all stare at the new planet. For the first time in history, they all feel like one unified race.
The time for searching, has now ended. Colonization, is about to commence.
"What will we call this planet sir" the crewman asked. Looking down at the planet, reminded him of a city. A holy city, a city that brings peace, and prosperity to those who seek it. "Zion" he says to the crewman. "We will call it Zion."
