Well with a bit of luck I should be able to move to a more relevant job in 6 months or so, maybe a year it depends <.<
Not to sound like such a downer, but I said the exact same thing when I got my first job and I'm still there now. Well, I have worked for different employers in that time period, but it's still practically same shit different place.

Though being a student, I still have that as an excuse for not having a better job.

Hmm yeah >.>

Well on the plus side, I've already got work shadowing with Clinical Psychologists lined up in the next couple of months so hopefully if that goes well they will be able to point me towards a supplier that has a vacancy but if not then I should be in a good position to apply for one myself having done said work experience with them >.>

emigrate or degenerate. the choice is yours
1. Don't exaggerate your qualifications or lie about yourself. Employers have a great bullshit detector and even if they don't, will look into your background to see if you're telling porkies.

2. Be confident. It's sounds cheesy and cliched, but it's pretty much the key. You could have all of the qualifications in the world and employers still wouldn't hire you if you come off as an awkward aspie that can't even make basic eye contact.

3. Research the company beforehand. You don't have to have an extensive list of the entire company's history in the back of your head, but it helps to know a bit about the organisation you could potentially be working for, and it shows that you're actually interested and committed.

4. Suit up and boot up. Don't come to an interview in skinny jeans, high tops and a hoodie (I've actually seen people do this in group interviews). You're not expected to wear a three piece or something, but a shirt (a tie if you want but it's not essential), smart trousers and shoes is absolutely paramount. You want to look smart and dedicated for the job you're enrolling into.

Sick humour, no respect.

Shit I'm vitamin D deficient and Calcium deficient. Am I going to end up like you? I've had lots of vitamin D since I've been out every day in Florida but calcium is a problem still.
Depends, if you end up not being able to walk outside for the best part of two years you might end up like me <.<

If you get some sun every day and drink a glass of milk, that should keep you fine. I was under the 'doctor going "bloooooody hell" tier' compared to most who have a minor deficiency >.> So you'd have to be really buggered to end up half crippled like past-me lol.
Did you never go outside or something?
Pretty much

Two badly ingrown toenails = blood whenever I walked, add depression/anxiety to that and it's easy enough to see why I sat inside and rotted away for a while. Got it all sorted now, hence I'm no longer a degenerating miserable old man at the age of 19. Lol.
youre 19? You sound so much older than me. If never guess you'd have been my age.
Almost 20, just two months away but yeah >.>
wow I'd have thought you were like 23-24 or something. You're too mature for a teen.

Should be easy enough given that I have none beyond my GCSEs and an AS level <.<
But yeah, lying isn't my thing especially over something serious. A good point though <.<

Here's hoping on that bit though, I think I should be alright but I'm hoping that nerves don't get the better of me.

>.> Bit trickier given that it's a local cornershop but I think it's got some sort of franchise link so yeah that might be worth some googling.

Heh of course <.<
I have a few decent smart clothes, not suit stuff but that should be fine <.<

Thanks for the tips >.>

Welp I had to grow up quite early so that might be why, but hey a miserable childhood prepares you better for the real world than a blissful and sheltered one would. I should probably thank mummy dearest for this someday lol.

my parents sheltered me. I can't say I'd thank them for it. What's the point of shielding them from the ugly things in life? So that they go in blind by themselves when they're older?

What did they ask you?
Just really simple stuff;
What grades did you get at GCSE/A Level?
What are you doing at the moment? (Follow up question about 'what is the psych degree for?')
Previous experience working?
And then a few questions about where I lived because I live literally next door to the shop lol.

Bumping this one instead of making a new one cause reasons.

So, I got the job. Which was yeeeeee.

Thing is though, our phones have been broken for a while without us knowing so when they rang up to let me know that I had the job the messages weren't saved and the display forked up too.

So it went to the runner up, not me. Salt/10. So I just had to drag my saline drenched smile next door to give some updated contact details since our phone doesn't work. GG, but yeah that's what comms' memepost was about.
The moral of the story is, make sure you sacrifice orphans to the phoneline in general and not just to the internet cable.

(I think the horsemask helped secure the job though)

schedule a business trip to America over the summer instead. Say you're going to observe proper pseudoscience in a for-profit system.

Good news at last, the shop keeper came around to my house about 3 hours ago and said 'We've got a job for you' so yey. I'm no longer a hobo as LC put it <_<

I start training on wednesday and probably working on friday or monday, depending on how they like to organise things.

The horse mask worked btw.
