As a little young teenage goblin, I was both of those things.

When I was younger I was fat. As you're well aware fat kids have a wonderful time in school with all the people blessed with better metabolisms and faster growth spurts. Being fat and knowing it is all around uncomfortable. You're not agile, you sweat like a pig at the slightest sign of activity, and it takes so much starting effort to overcome being overweight.

But me being poor? For starters, I've never asked for much to begin with. I don't care about money and if it up and vanished overnight I wouldn't miss it. Plus, I know that if I ever do need money, it's the easiest thing out there to acquire, unlike a body with no predispositions for being fat.

I'd take bumfuck broke any day.
