Well, with regards to what you said, I don't really factor in a scene's "iconic"-ness when judging movies. What's iconic about Empire, anyway? We have the Vader reveal, the Hoth battle that everyone seems to like so much, and... I can't really think of anything else. It was that unmemorable to me. What else was iconic, and why should they be considered reasons for the film's apparent quality?

Not sure how to convince you about Hoth. It's got incredible sets, a great introduction into the mood of the film and the situation (scrolling intro scene aside, it shows us that despite the victory in IV the Rebels are still on the run and aren't safe, without overbearing exposition), wonderful cinematography and the best mix of practical and special effects in the series. It's also just a fun fight; the ship designs are cool, the AT-AT is a silly but unique concept, the way they take them down and evacuate the base is just really fun...like I said, I don't know how to convince you. If you didn't like it, you didn't like it.

I like learning more about the philosophy of the Force, the history of the Empire and the Jedi, the twist in Bespin, Han's carbonite scene, and the best fight in the entire series: the duel between Luke and Vader.

I'm not really big on stacking the films in a list of preference. I wouldn't say V is better than IV of III.

I personally think the RotJ duel had a lot more going on emotionally. That was my favorite duel in the series.

4-awesome movie, but a bit slow.
6-awesome movie. Love the massive battles going on during last half.
5-fantastic. Brilliant pacing. Love it.
7-stroke of genius. What can I say. This film revolutionized the industry. This is the film that kids will be learning about in schools hundreds of years from now. The iconic scene where Mark Hamill reveals his long dong will be ingrained forever in our brains.

I feel like Phantom Menace will age the best out of the prequels. The CGI in AOTC and ROTS has aged terribly, and Phantom's saving grace is that it used more practical effects in comparison.

That scene is nice, then followed by some really horrendous line delivery when he's confessing what he did to Padme.
