Will I regret skipping Senior prom?

At first I was excited for it, but now I'm really not feeling it. My friends keep trying to convince me that I should go and now I'm stuck. I already went last year as a Junior so I've had the experience before.

i didnt go to senior prom, and i dont regret it one bit.

i do regret not going to a party that night, but i played a bunch of magic the gathering with my friends so i had fun anyway.

For sure, but my closest group of friends aren't into that sort of thing so I wouldn't get to party like I did last year.

I don't know you well enough to answer that question accurately so I'm not even gonna try. Some will tell you yes, some will tell you no. But, chances are, they're in the same boat as me.

Do what you feel like doing. It's a once in a lifetime event, but it's not as important as people make it out to be.

I went to my end of school prom and I severely regret it. Waste of £30 it was. I mean, wearing a suit was cool and the food was decent but the rest was shit. Music was too loud to talk to my friends and I couldn't move through the room to get a drink without being elbowed in the robs by some idiot trying to dance. Eventually I got bored, annoyed and tired and went home early and spent the rest of the night watching Lord of the Rings. It was an infinitely better way to spend time.

Don't go, it's a waste of time and money- the one time I gave in to everyone saying to do something despite not wanting to and I hated it.

If you're of the disposition that would lead to you even asking this (i.e., you don't have a large group of friends to go with or a girl to ask), then no, you won't. I went to two and the real memories are of the after-party.

I didn't go to mine. I don't see the appeal of being in a crowded room full of people I won't care about in a few years.

I sure didn't. I'm sure it might have been fun on a base level, but prom always just seemed like a colossal waste of time and money for what basically amounts only to a big ol' circlejerk, followed by a half-assed popularity contest that nobody is going to remember in the next five years. It's no big loss.

Who wasn't a loser in high school? Even if you were "popular", what happens after that? You go to college and enter the real world, where literally nobody gives a flying, feathered fuck about what you did in high school.

What I didn't mention in the OP is that if I went this year, I wouldn't get to go to the after-party. See my reply to Ryle.

Really one of the only reasons I went last year was because I knew I was gonna go to the after-party.

If you stay local, within a few towns, then what you did in highschool is a huge influence on your "real life"

Damn. I guess I'll need to take a second to inform one of my best friends, who is currently attending Yale, that he's a loser, as well. With his perfect SAT/ACT scores. If only he had went to prom--that would have made all the difference in his life. He would be a real winner.
