If this was story was true, it only makes Bungie look worse. I'd smoke one with the all mighty Marty if I had the chance.

I'm thinking they fired him because they didn't want his reputation ruined. They knew Destiny was going to be badly received and they didn't want Marty having major involvement in the game. So the fired him before launch just so this blunder wouldn't affect him as much.
