How does it defy canon exactly? The new story team has wiped away that shit heap that was the Expanded Universe (yes, there were a few gems in the cesspool) into a "Legends" category. Anything made before March 2014, aside from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is officially non-canon until said otherwise.

Technically, it is perfectly in line with canon because there is nothing there for it to defy in the first place.

I have no interest in watching something that's black and white as hell. It takes the enjoyment out of it when I know the Empire are a bunch of idiots. And it's the generic thing where the rebels are the good guys and the empire are the evil Nazi's. There's no depth to it besides being black and white. If it was like Continuum which doesn't have that generic black and white shit then I would watch it.
