wait lol you seriously think maintaining physical endurance and muscle training isnt part of being healthy?
ill take "obvious facts" for $500, alex. muscle training may take a lower priority than proper nutrition, but that doesnt mean it isnt deeply involved with your health. besides, many resistance/endurance training methods also improve your cardiovascular health.

i think you have entirely missed the point here. youre focusing so much on the mental aspect of why people lift weights that youre willfully ignoring all the positive aspects of weight training.
its clear that youre a bit flustered

I'm saying the positive aspects of weight training don't matter -- they're not worth it. And as long as we're being honest, the vast majority of "weight lifters" do not do it for health benefits. I should know, I used to be one.Quoteits clear that youre a bit flusteredLOLNah, you just seem to have some personal vendetta against me. Either that or you're just naturally a cunt to people who've done nothing to you.
ill just drop off some information, in that case.http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/fitness/in-depth/strength-training/art-20046670http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcarticles.nsf/pages/Resistance_training_the_health_benefits?open
I replied to you here because you've been saying some genuinely disturbing, incorrect things about health+fitness.
We have a young, impressionable userbase. How are they supposed to know the difference between fact and unsubstantiated bullshit if people don't call the bullshit out?
and im not your bro, guy
Quote from: Desty on October 16, 2015, 02:36:52 PMI lift for myself. I lift so that I can look good naked, and I don't intend to ever get into sexy times. If you lift to look good, without lifting, you don't look good. You are not okay with your base level of attractiveness. Which makes you insecure.

Except I and the OP don't care about health benefits, and if you were really concerned with being healthy, "lifting" would not be the most important thing on your list. He only lifts because he wants to look good, and it being "healthy" is a bonus. If it wasn't healthy to work out, people would still do it.
Because I'm not insecure about how I look. Making yourself better looking is the only "rational" (use that VERY loosely) reason to do it, and I don't care about that.
Lifting weights is primarily used to increase muscle mass and strength, both of which have nothing to do with your health.
If you're lifting with the intention of improving muscle mass, you're not doing it right to the point where health is your priority, like running or eating well.

It all comes down to being happy.I felt lazy and had a gut - which made me feel unhappy.Ever since I started running and regularly exercising I feel much better about myself and hence actually happy. So if you are happy the way you are - awesome! If you are not happy about your body, get out there and change it.

How the hell are you people arguing about this LOLExercise is good and important. Bodybuilding is stupid. End of discussion.
Bodybuilding is essential to get the pussy and/or dick

I mean, I just do a lot of walking and don't eat crap and I'm neither over or under weight. I'm at a happy medium where I don't change.

See, in these cases, you're letting your personal biases affect your ability to objectively judge the situation. Your feelings override fact and you speak as though these things are true, when the reality is that they aren't.
seem to be relying solely on your own offhand knowledge.

There's really no need to be in the gym everyday pushing your body to its limits if you aren't an athlete. You're wasting time. Put that effort into something that can get you real results that will improve your life.
