I'm curious too, if we're lucky the waste causes volcanic ash which then cools the earth. Can't be bad right?? Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know much about volcanoes.

No it's not. Northern Africa is already a shithole anyway so I don't think they'll mind having the West dumb it's waste in the Sahara.

Why would be terraform a planet too close to the Sun? Mars is a better option for colonization.

Mercury is too small.

Venus is more Earth like than Mars, and the problem is the atmosphere not that it's too close to the sun.
