I never said that though.

I enjoy turn off your brain action flicks as much as anyone else (the X-Men franchise contain some of my favourite superhero films). I just don't think the MCU is directed in a very efficient, enjoyable or even serviceable manner. There's really no tension to them because we all know everything will be wrapped in a neat little bow irregardless of the adversity the characters face (Coulson being brought back for a tv series, and Groot pulling a Deus Ex Machina). Everything just seems to come off as a major pander to the reddit crowd, from cheesy groan inducing quips, to Syfy levels of cinematography.

Just because it's mindless action entertainment doesn't mean it shouldn't be afforded genuine criticism.
